‘Pinoy Hachiko’ Buboy gone soon after master’s death
The viral story of a stray dog named Buboy has become trending on social media for patiently waiting by the door of his owner’s classroom, Carmelito Marcelo, a professor in Mabalacat City College in Pampanga.
The puppy had no idea that his “best buddy” had passed away last May 18. Buboy is known as the Philippine version of the loyal Japanese dog, Akita Hachiko, that made are hearts broken because of their same story.
After a month of his owner’s death, Buboy, died from several injuries after being run over by a jeepney last June.
There were no profile and identity of the jeepney driver.
He was honored by the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) with his own statue after he passed on which was built in the foundation’s animal cemetery in Capas, Tarlac.
The inseparable duo’s story touched the hearts of netizens that grieves and gives their condolences online during the Independence Day.
